Applicable to: Users of TrueFoundry’s Playground and Settings who use built-in common tools such as WebSearch, CodeSandbox, Sequential Thinking, and WebScrape.

What Is Changing

Starting with release v0.135.0, these common tools will no longer be available for selection in the Playground or Settings UI.

Transition period

For a limited time:
  • Users who rely on these tools programmatically can continue using them.
  • Users who have saved common tools in prompts can continue using those workflows.
These paths are deprecated. After 15 May 2026, common tools will be fully unsupported — they will be removed from the product and will no longer work.

Alternatives

You can add and use equivalent capabilities as MCP servers where needed. We will soon launch a separate way for SaaS customers to use web search.

What You Need to Do

  1. Start migrating now — update Playground configurations, saved prompts, and programmatic workflows that depend on common tools.
  2. Adopt MCP server–based integrations where you still need WebSearch, CodeSandbox, Sequential Thinking, WebScrape, or similar behavior.
